Baldwin Construction Services, Inc. has an opening for a Construction Business Development/Sales Specialist based out of the Wilmington, North Carolina office.

Position Overview
The Construction Business Development/Sales Specialist will develop business for the design build and negotiated contracts.

Will require travel.

Understands business negotiations, and recognizes and acts upon opportunities to promote the company’s expertise and successful past performance. Travel to cultivate new and ongoing business development endeavors. Typical responsibilities include important client accounts and potential project activities.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Establishes and maintains client contacts and develops sales strategy.
   

• Strengthen current business ties; coordinates meetings between clients/ potential clients and technical or other key individuals.
   

• Keeps abreast of overall construction business trends, particularly the current business climate. Conduct surveys to determine promising areas of development. Establishes and maintains numerous contacts within and outside the industry. Follows up in a timely manner on all possible leads.
   

• Develops active list for invitations to bid and provide guidance to proposal team as to the clients and projects requirements.
   

• Assist in negotiated contracts, including joint venture agreements.
   

• Extensive Construction Business Development experience required.
   

• A thorough understanding of construction technology and terminology is required. The ability to negotiate with potential clients, and a good understanding of the Company’s policies and business objectives will be required. Applicant must possess strong written and oral communication skills, including excellent presentation skills. In addition, an exceptional ability to represent the Company favorably, to develop new clients, and to negotiate with key members of other firms, is also required.
